The rental point of a Latvian outdoor-shop chain, in Pārdaugava. It hires out touring and mountain bikes with helmets, child seats and bike bags, plus hiking kit — tents, sleeping bags, mats, backpacks, dry bags, stoves, cookware, lamps, camping furniture and trekking poles. Gear can be booked online and also collected at Gandrs points in Valmiera or Liepāja; the longer the rental, the lower the daily price.

A car hire desk at Riga Airport, in the E sector of the arrivals area. Cars and estates, sports cars and convertibles, 4x4s and vans are available. The desk is open daily 08:00–24:00, and cars can be returned around the clock by parking in P4 and dropping the keys in the box at the Sixt counter.

Fat-tyre e-bike hire in Sigulda for the town’s hilly trails and rides into Gauja National Park. The motor assists up to 25 km/h and one charge lasts more than 60 km; rental costs €29–49, booked through Sigulda Adventures.

Bike rental, sales and repairs in Majori, with 20 years in the business. Children’s, youth, sport, touring, mountain, beach-cruiser and city bikes can be hired, as can bike trailers; the company also runs group rides, races and corporate events.

Boat hire in Krāslava for trips down the Daugava through the Daugavas loki nature park: 12 canoes, 12 kayaks, 2 inflatable rafts, SUP boards and all the gear. A two-person boat costs €15, and after the trip drivers are taken back to their cars in Krāslava. With the Skerškāni guest house it also runs a two-hour boat quest for families (€20 regardless of the number of boats); booking required.

Bike and Segway rental in Old Riga on Pils iela. Choose from city, mountain, folding and electric bikes or a tandem, with child seats and trailers available; a helmet, lock and map are included, and a deposit is required. Guided bike and Segway tours of Riga, Jūrmala and Sigulda are also on offer.

A bike shop and workshop in central Daugavpils that rents city and mountain bikes and helmets. Hire is €20 per 24 hours with a €50 deposit (no hourly rental); open weekdays 09:00–18:00 and Saturdays 10:00–15:00, with out-of-hours returns by prior arrangement.

Electric mountain bike (e-MTB) hire and rides around Līgatne in Gauja National Park. Routes include a Līgatne e-bike tour that can take in the Elephant Cave, an easier Līgatne–Cēsis–Līgatne loop for beginners, Līgatne–Sigulda–Līgatne on forest paths, and a 75 km day ride Valmiera–Cēsis–Līgatne with a lunch and charging stop in Cēsis.

E-bike and mountain-bike hire in Cēsis at the Eži bike shop and workshop. Bikes come fully equipped, and renters get free GPS e-bike routes to load onto their phones. Open weekdays 09:00–18:00 and Saturdays 10:00–15:00; at weekends an e-bike can also be collected by arrangement by phone.

E-bike hire in the south of Liepāja on Ganību iela, including e-bikes with a child seat or a sidecar. Bikes can be delivered and collected for an extra fee; rentals run daily 09:00–22:00 by prior arrangement, from €6 an hour.

Gandrs’ bike and outdoor-gear rental point in central Liepāja: touring, electric and mountain bikes for the city’s 55-plus kilometres of cycle paths, with lower daily rates for longer hires. Hiking gear booked online — tents, sleeping bags, backpacks and camping furniture — can be collected here too.

Motorhome hire with Adria and Etrusco vehicles, from a compact campervan to large motorhomes sleeping 4–5. In Latvia the vehicles are collected in Berģi on the Riga–Sigulda highway; the company also has pick-up points in Vilnius, Kaunas and Málaga.

Bike rental, repairs and parts on Raiņa iela in Liepāja. Bikes can be hired by the hour, for a few hours, a day or longer: from €1.50 an hour up to €8 a day, with each extra day €5.

A rental point in Mežaparks on Kokneses prospekts with bikes, inline skates and one-, two- and four-seat pedal carts for kids and adults to ride along the park’s paths. In winter, when there is enough snow, it hands out ski equipment for the Mežaparks trail.

The only surviving manor complex in the Daugavas loki nature park. For families there are swings, a playground, a climbing wall and outdoor fitness equipment, with morning coffee and Latgalian dishes. The manor also rents touring kayaks (for 2–3 people) for trips down the Daugava, such as Krāslava–Lielborne (15 km) or Lielborne–Elerne (25 km); transport for the boat and paddlers to and from the manor is included in the price.
